How Montreal Sketchfest has become a cultural institution for absurd sketch comedy in Canada
Many of today’s popular comedic writers, actors and show producers worked their chops at the Montreal Sketchfest. The annual event is held at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine — a space where the absurdity of sketch comedy is embraced and encouraged in both official languages. Festival director Deirdre Trudeau explains how creators have kept the event going for 20 years.
