Montreal borough blames misunderstanding after homeless encampment bulldozed

René Marquis lived in a vacant Montréal-Nord lot for six months. Now all of his belongings are destroyed or damaged — medication, food, sleeping bags and more. He said he was left with nothing after borough staff swooped in and wrecked his encampment.
