Laval, Que., asked to pay $1M to disgraced former mayor Gilles Vaillancourt
The Canada Revenue Agency is asking the City of Laval to write a $1 million cheque to Gilles Vaillancourt, the longtime mayor who pleaded guilty to several charges in 2016 following years of corruption allegations. The money would go toward paying the taxes Vaillancourt owes the government.
