Nexteer Automotive Expands in Liuzhou with New Smart Manufacturing Facility
Nexteer Automotive has commenced construction on a new smart manufacturing facility in Liuzhou, China, marking a significant step in its strategic growth within the APAC steering market. This development is poised to enhance Nexteer’s production capabilities and supply chain integration, catering to the increasing demand from both domestic and global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
The new facility is designed to boost in-house production of critical components, such as Column-Assist Electric Power Steering (CEPS) systems and Modular Power Packs, which are essential for the safety and integration of intelligent vehicle platforms. Spanning over 40,000 square meters, the site will include advanced laboratories, test tracks, and an employee center, with operations expected to commence in the first half of 2026.
Jun Li, Nexteer’s Global Vice President and APAC Division President, highlighted the facility’s role in scaling capacity to meet the burgeoning demand for steering solutions across China and the broader APAC region. The initiative reflects Nexteer’s commitment to innovation, with a focus on Motion-by-Wire technologies that enhance vehicle safety, performance, and customization.
Emphasizing sustainability, the facility will incorporate energy-efficient infrastructure and advanced automation, aligning with local industrial development priorities and Nexteer’s dedication to responsible innovation. This project not only relocates Nexteer’s current Liuzhou operations but also strengthens its global manufacturing footprint, working in tandem with the APAC Technical Center in Suzhou, China.
Robin Milavec, President and Chief Technology Officer of Nexteer Automotive, underscored the company’s strategy of combining global expertise with local market understanding to maintain leadership in China’s competitive automotive sector. This approach ensures Nexteer’s ability to deliver high-quality, safety-critical solutions that meet the evolving needs of OEMs and contribute to the future of intelligent mobility.
